Do you believe what is presented in this video? Was it staged? I think more likely a bunch of JW friends stop by to say Hi. Even if there is true to what is presented in minute 3:28, it's not representative at all.
Don't waste time. Go straight to slighltly before minute 3:28

Leaving the JWs, experiencing Christianity and finding freedom! (But it took awhile)
by im_free inthis is my first post here.. i was raised in "the truth", and am an ex-bethelite who worked in brooklyn for several years back in the 90's.
a few years after i left bethel, i started to become disillusioned after doing research about the society and reading crisis of conscience (i know..i wasn't supposed to do that lol).
i eventually stopped attending meetings and going out in service.

welcome Im free
I am an agnostic (as an attempt to remain neutral and objective), but I lean towards no God or the God of Einstein and Spinoza, that is, an impersonal force that maintains the laws of Physics that regulate the universe. At 13 or 14 I left religion for good, but it is during the last 2 years that I have learned about the Bible, JW's, Christianity and Judaism. To keep it short, an in-depth study of all those four subjects is likely to lead anyone with an open mind and a strong interest in truth in the direction of atheism or agnosticism. Higher and lower criticism of the Bible is far more interesting than any religious Biblical study you have ever had, or any meeting or convention you have ever attended, but it most certainly will push you away from your belief in a personal God.

What year did the NWT drop John 7:53-8:11? Was it ever in the NWT?
by Terry infrom biblegateway:.
jesus forgives a woman taken in adulterythis story, beloved for its revelation of god's mercy toward sinners, is found only in john.
it was almost certainly not part of john's original gospel.

Sacramento : "There is no "new" or "contrary" theology that is effected by it's inclusion and since there is actually much to learn from that passge, why not keep it in there?"
Actually, there are huge problems. According to "Jesus" nobody can judge anyone for any sin, because everybody has sinned. That's irrational and leads to anarchy, but it has the emotional appeal. Besides "Jesus" wants to have it both ways. In the passage, he proposes to ignore the law while claiming in other places in the Gospels to adhere to the law (Matthew 5:18). That's hypocrisy
The story is not wonderful, it only sound wonderful. If we follow its message, then we don't need a code of laws, police or even a government that metes out punishment. The story promotes anarchy until the only worthy of being a judge comes to judge. Wouldn't the Governing Body love to use this scripture in front of the judge when they are accused in court of protecting pedophiles.

Welcome speedracer,
I was born in the same decade as you. I have never been a JW but I have taken a very serious interest in JW's since my daughter got baptized two years ago.
If you want to get deeper into JW's deception, I highly recommend that you read The Gentile Times Reconsidered by Carl Olof Jonsson. That may get you even deeper into other subjects such as history of antiquity, archaelogy, ancient calendars, the Bible, and definitely JW's. Any of the subjects I just listed will in turn catch your interest and get you even deeper into very interesting stuff such as Bible Scholarship and history of Christianity and Judaism. There's no end to how far you can go once you start learning TTATT.

A good God will kill for eternity people like Albert Schweitzer, a man born in a rich family, very smart, talented, with fame and money in his future, but instead of capitalizing on his great gifts to get all the fame and money he wanted, he founds a hospital and works as a doctor in a poor village in Africa. But that same God will save a JW for simply baptizing and swearing allegiance to the Governing Body. Where is the common sense in the mind of JW's?

The biggest event for me has been the departure of Leolaia. I hope you can fill her shoes.

Telephone Conversations Today with 2 Elders Re: Shunning - Or Not?
by abbasgreta inmy alcoholic and aged jw mother is now extremely ill and is being cared for in every respect by my non-jw brother.
3 sisters visited him yesterday and were adamant.
that i (disassociated and shunned by her for nearly 3 years) was able to 'visit her any time' and that ' there was nothing to stop me seeing her' as long as i. didn't discuss spiritual things with her.

Visit your mom and use the opportunity to tell her what you think of the WT, her decision to follow the WT orders regarding shunning you, and how unscriptural their position is. She is going to have to take it, at least until you get kicked out of the house. I know these actions are vindictive. Perhaps you should ignore my advice, but quite franky vengeance in this case is so appealing.

A new member
by LP97 ini'm a 17 year old from scotland.
can i just say this site is absolutely brilliant.
finally found people with open minds and free thought that doesn't just consist of "well the wt told me this so it must be right".. my story is that i'm just like any other child of a jw...brought up into a life of indoctrination where "the world's" thinking is automatically wrong.. that is until i was 14 - a light turned on in my head.

Welcome,
Great to hear from young people like you leaving the WT. The world needs your talent to be put to good use. Let the old and hopelessly gullible find refuge in a fantasy. The rest of us have science, technology and real world challenges to deal with, while the religious leeches take a free ride. They condemn us, but promptly take advantage of the rights, protections and benefits of the worldly system. Hypocrites!!

HOW CAN WOMEN BE ANNOINTED BUT NO PRIVELAGES IN HALL?
by NoMoreHustle ini had listened to the degrading talk by gb heard (on women) & watched a video on evie bklyn channel & there was alot of interesting questions that are raised.. i had always wondered why can't women in the hall handle mics or run magazine counter etc.?
but they (if annointed) will rule in heaven with jesus.
that is a pretty heavy responsibility to help jesus rule millions of people on earth, but yet they can't pass a mic or even run the sound system in the kh.
